The Laundry Department facilitates laundry services to our patients and customers with Thoughtful Anticipation, by providing clean linen and a comfortable environment to improve our patients healing process. Working safely, keeping areas as orderly as possible, in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Be able to read, write, work with numbers, and understand instructions and communicate in English.
• Understanding of elementary math.
• A valid driver license is a requirement and a clean driving record for this position.

• Ability to perform job duties and on the job training.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in or from standardized situations.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Responsibilities

• Implement SJRMC’s Service Standards into daily work: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship.
• Report all injuries to your supervisor and submit a Quantros report immediately following injury.
• Distribute laundered articles and linens.
• May disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies, using germicides and sterilizing equipment.
• Keep utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition.
• Perform daily operations using basic units including cups, pints, quarts, inches, feet, yards, ounces, and pounds.
