About The Position

QLI is a national leader in providing a comprehensive approach to the therapeutic process of a person recovering from the effects of a spinal cord or traumatic brain injury. We are a passionate and mission-focused team committed to delivering life-changing rehabilitation and care. QLI is looking for a Laundry Aide who brings a positive and creative approach to organizing and maintaining the laundry process. The person in this position will perform the day-to-day activities in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old (required)
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. (preferred)
  • (1) Year experience (preferred)
  • COVID vaccination preferred
  • Must commit to receiving annual flu vaccination

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive, productive, and growth-oriented working environment for residents/clients, co-workers, and families
  • Communicate clearly with other team members in written and oral forms
  • Maintain QLI standards with respect to the provision of good and appropriate care of residents’ laundry
  • Appropriately respond to individual resident/client/team member needs as they arise
  • Provide a positive and consistent model for residents, clients, and peers.
  • Promote and exemplify the QLI Mission
  • Provide and maintain a clean, safe, and healthy living and working environment for residents and clients both in the long-term care unit and throughout the campus
  • Maintain a working knowledge regarding selection and implementation of equipment and supplies
  • Load washer with laundry; regulate amount and temperature of water, cycle sequence and washing time; mix and add soaps, detergents, softeners, and bleach in accordance with amount, type, and condition of laundry being washed
  • Pre-soak and disinfect contaminated articles as needed
  • Wash delicate items as recommended
  • Operate tumbler by loading machines with damp laundry; operate switch to start and stop machine; remove articles when sufficiently dried
  • Label any unmarked laundry to identify the area to which it will be delivered
  • Maintain adequate supplies for completion of laundry
  • Clean machines as needed
  • Assist in other phases of laundry operations as required
  • Participate in all safety, security, and infection control programs as required
  • Attend and participate actively and positively in scheduled meetings and in-services
  • Demonstrate consistent and punctual work attendance and task efficiency in job behaviors
  • Follow procedures, policies, and processes accurately and consistently in compliance with company guidelines, policy and procedures
  • Satisfactorily complete all required team member training and stay well informed of current and new practices in the laundry field
  • Maintain resident/client confidentiality
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
