About the position
The Laundry Aide position is a part-time role focused on maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of linens and garments in a long-term care setting. The ideal candidate will work every weekend, ensuring that laundry operations run smoothly and efficiently to support the facility's needs.
Responsibilities
- Launder and clean various types of linens, towels, and garments according to established standards.
- Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Sort, fold, and organize clean laundry for distribution to appropriate areas within the facility.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area to ensure a safe working environment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to management promptly.
Requirements
- Proven ability to launder and clean various fabrics effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a hotel or nursing environment is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with dry cleaning processes is a plus.
