About The Position

As a Principal System Engineer in the Launch Vehicle Integration (LVI) team, you will be driving the business operations at Sierra Space through your skills and expertise. Specifically, you will be responsible for all aspects of Launch Vehicle Integration for your assigned projects with focused responsibility as the primary point of contact for overall execution of the Launch Service Integration, cost, schedule, technical planning/tracking/reporting. You will be the technical lead with additional management responsibilities for resource planning/tracking in coordination with other corporate entities and responsible for your team that can fulfill Launch Vehicle Integration (LVI) program responsibilities. You will be the driver, ensuring LVI program issues and non-compliances are identified, tracked, and resolved, the successful mission integration with the launch vehicle, interface requirement verification, and successful launch and delivery on-orbit of Sierra Space's designated Spacecraft. You will be responsible for LVI related program risk management, ensuring risks are identified, tracked, and mitigated. You'll be responsible for conducting routine technical meetings, supporting program Customer meetings with LVI status, developing proposals, researching/fact-finding, and negotiating with Launch Service providers. You'll be the Control Account Manager (CAM) for Defense LVI programs, responsible for the cost and schedule execution of the launch integration scope of the contract.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical related discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience in aerospace.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Spacecraft/LV design or launch operations.
  • Experience in launch vehicle mission integration.
  • Familiarity with LV User Guides and Range safety requirements.
  • Experience in planning and coordinating integrated operations.
  • Proven leadership abilities and mentoring skills.
  • Mastery of managing complex situations and delegating authority.
  • Proven experience in team building, time management, and conflict resolution.
  • Must hold an Active TS/SCI.

  • Experience managing projects requiring Earned Value Management.
  • Ability to reinforce the usage of Corporate PM tools.
  • Ability to keep program management informed of function & process changes.
  • Ability to establish and refine templates, tools, & guidelines for program documentation.
