Description Reusable systems with frequent launch cadence are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. Highly operable, reliable, and robust ground systems are an integral part of a fully reusable launch system. As a technician for our dedicated launch complex at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, you will be responsible for developing and commissioning a new launch pad from scratch. Our unique design, build, & operations approach require individuals to be well versed in a variety of construction and manufacturing processes. We are seeking motivated individuals to draw on their prior experience and teamwork to collaborate with engineers and the technician team to build, assemble, commission, and operate ground support systems. You will use your resourcefulness and communication skills to identify and solve issues real-time, working as a high-functioning individual and an integrated team member. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in aerospace, mechanical, or construction environments
  • Knowledge of building, assembling, testing, and operating process piping, pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical systems
  • Hands-on experience with assembling and operating FOD-intolerant service components and systems
  • Ability to safely operate hazardous systems, including high-energy, pressure, temperature, and high-power systems
  • Experience in lockout/tagout (LOTO), hot work permits, confined space permits, rigging, & lifting
  • Skilled in handling delicate and high-value assemblies
  • Experience in operating heavy equipment including reach-lifts and aerial lifts
  • Ability to work second shift and weekends as required
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted
  • Able to stand for extended periods
  • Able to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain & maintain military installation access including DBIDS
  • Willing relocate to Cape Canaveral, FL
  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Responsibilities

  • Build, assemble, and operate launch ground support equipment and perform handling and integration of flight hardware based on written and verbal instructions, work orders, technical drawings, CAD models, and procedures
  • Perform precision measurement and cleaning of hardware components
  • Identify discrepancies and troubleshoot issues, collaborating with engineering for resolutions and documenting corrective actions
  • Execute component builds or assemblies as per work orders and accurately document build processes for new and repeatable assembly sequences
