As a Launch System Integrator - Intern, you will provide technical support and direction while working with teams on cross-level multidisciplinary product development teams. You will support core systems engineering activities, verification activities, and serve as a liaison between government customers and launch vehicle contractors. This role also provides responsibility for coordinating integrated ground operations, rehearsal planning, and flight operations support. The internship offers hands on exposure to end to end launch operations and the opportunity to work alongside engineers on high impact missions.

Requirements

  • Student pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time, including extended travel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships.
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting execution of test events, evaluation of results, and development of verification reports to ensure requirement compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience in performing technical studies and system trades for enhanced capabilities.
  • Ability to coordinate with and interface with numerous customers, be proficient at delivering technical briefings.
  • Current Top Secret/SCI security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of Launch Vehicle Requirements and review verification.
  • Conduct trade studies, risk assessments, and configuration management.
  • Coordinate verification activities across internal teams and external partners.
  • Support all working group meetings, technical exchange meetings and readiness reviews.
  • Provide integration, coordination, and technical support to integrate a Satellite Vehicle onto a Launch Vehicle system which includes LV/SV interfaces, environments, launch facilities, communications and transportation
  • Interface with flight operations SMEs to coordinate insertion orbits and compliance to requirements.
  • Serve as a point of contact for day to day communications with government customers and launch vehicle contractors (e.g., SpaceX, ULA).
  • Attend and contribute to various Working Groups and other stakeholder meetings.
  • Coordinate electrical compatibility reviews, ensuring power, grounding, and data interface requirements are met.
  • Work with electrical engineering teams to resolve interface mismatches
