Job Responsibilities: Position Summary: Responsible for training team on assembling automotive seat systems correctly and timely. You’ll supervise the day-to-day operation of the Launch Production Team members so that they can contribute to building high-quality products in a fast-paced environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork. Position Responsibilities: Ensure a safe work environment and compliance with all EHS policies and procedures is sustained. Investigate and resolve safety issues and/or incidents and support rehabilitation of injured employees. Participate in audits. Ensure conformance to IATF 16949 quality management standards is sustained. Maintain process procedures and documentation as applicable. Participate in audits and devise corrective/preventive actions. Identify and suggest changes to procedures as appropriate. Ensure employee training is completed as per MSSC requirements and standard rotations are in place. Build seats to customer standard and assist with customer reviews. Monitor processes between production, quality, materials, maintenance, etc to ensure a smooth flow. Resolves issues with the respective areas as they arise. Coordinate and schedule special builds and protype builds. Communicate build plans with launch, production and engineering teams and participate in build activities. Document and communicate component issues found in special builds. Assist in evaluating failure mode and defining actions for improvements. Lead or support establishing procedures and OVS/JES for production. Engage other groups or departments as applicable in defining procedures. Participate in “carboard city”. Maintain Open Item List (OIL) to ensure issues, actions and champions are tracked. Travel between multiple sites including Magna plant, Magna warehouse, and BMW. Assist quality team with emergency repairs at BMW as needed. Perform parts inspection, inventory, cleanup, minor equipment maintenance, or other related tasks. Maintain self-compliance and lead by example of Magna Charter and Principles and all rules, processes and procedures. Monitor employee performance and compliance with Magna Charter and Principles, rules, processes and procedures. Address issues in a firm, fair and consistent manner. Document employee performance discussions through means of coachings, evaluations, corrective actions, etc. Respond to employee issues, concerns, suggestions, and complaints within 48 hours. Identify activities to improve safety, quality, production, operator efficiency, eliminate waste, etc. Responsible for accurate and timely review and approval of timecards, attendance records, and time off requests. Maintain communication with team members regarding matters of safety, quality, production, goals, site activities, etc to keep all informed. Complete all assigned trainings before established deadlines. Attend and participate in scheduled meetings. All other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years’ experience in production leadership roles in manufacturing environment. Includes handling performance discussions, documentation of accountability, accurate timekeeping records, accurate attendance records, accurate training records, etc.
  • Ability to stand 8+ hours each day and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Working knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and problem solving.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support 24/7 operation.
  • Willing and able to travel – both domestically and internationally.
  • High degree of professional maturity, integrity, ability to maintain confidential information and data.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to confront issues and resolve conflict while demonstrating diplomacy and tactfulness and controlling emotions.
  • Ability to objectively coach employees through complex, difficult and emotional issues.
  • Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems and issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations or government law.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of a recognized post-secondary institution in a related field.
  • Experience working in Automotive industry.
  • Experience with product launches.
  • Experience with Job Instruction & Job Relations activities (“Train the Trainer”) or equivalent.
  • Level 3 trained on 6 assembly stations.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish, Ukrainian, or Russian.
