Your journey starts now-protect and innovate with MANTECH! MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Launch Site Systems Engineer. This position will be located on-site at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS) in Cape Canaveral, FL. The candidate will support the certification of New Entrant Launch Service Providers to ensure the capability to provide launch services for Department of Defense (DoD) National Security Space Launch (NSSL) missions. This role offers deep technical engagement directly influencing the success of Assured Access to Space (AATS).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
  • 7+ years of related experience in Safety and Environment Engineering with emphasis in spacecraft or launch vehicle processing and integration.
  • Demonstrated experience in launch site design, testing, and operations.
  • Knowledge and experience with government and commercial industry standards applicable to launch vehicles.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with digital data and collaboration tools including Power Automate, Jira, Confluence, Mattermost, Power BI, Power Apps.
  • Proficiency in Data Analysis and Application Programming Interfaces.
  • Background in launch or satellite systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide system engineering support to the U.S. Space Force Space and Space Systems Command (SSC) New Entrant Certification Team (NECT) to certify the capability of the Launch Service Provider's (LSP) launch vehicle to provide launch services for Department of Defense (DoD) National Security Space (NSS) missions on Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV)-class launch vehicles.
  • Interface with on-site certification representatives to include USAF, Government, New Entrant, and other Government agencies.
  • Perform monitoring, analysis and reporting on the LSP's processes and procedures including vehicle processing and checkout for launch, static fire, Wet Dress Rehearsals (WDRs), and checkout for launch operations.
  • Assess and evaluate LSP's launch complex requirements, design, configuration changes and verification/validation documentation and provide risk recommendations to the government.
  • Monitor LSP's anomaly resolution process, review risks, issues, and changes to support the government's efforts to track configuration changes.
  • Support the NEC Team during operations by troubleshooting, tracking and reporting nominal and anomalous events to support the Government's efforts to track all ground systems operational requirements.
  • Attend and evaluate reviews and technical meetings, develop and manage SE tools for certification evaluation, and develop reports.
  • Participate in major reviews for the launch system and major sub-systems.
  • Develop and present technical summary reports.
