The Launch Operations Systems Engineer for Project Kuiper is responsible for developing and maintaining the software infrastructure and procedures necessary for processing satellites for launch. This role involves collaborating with manufacturing and software teams to create and execute test requirements, ensuring the successful integration of satellite systems before launch. The engineer will work in a highly technical environment, addressing complex problems and contributing to the overall mission of providing global broadband access through satellite technology.

  • Develop and maintain satellite processing software test procedures
  • Develop and maintain code pipeline infrastructure
  • Test satellite code ahead of release using hardware in the loop and other test assets
  • Support manufacturing engineers by defining and executing test requirements
  • Develop automated testing systems to increase satellite manufacturing processes
  • Collaborate with hardware and software design teams to triage and resolve operational issues
  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering or comparable degree
  • 3+ years of coding experience with a scripting language such as Python, C#, TypeScript, or similar
  • Experience with AWS services and cloud development
  • Proficiency of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional tests
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Passport
  • Ability and willingness to comply with the Government of French Guiana vaccination mandates
  • Ability to pass Kennedy Space Center background checks
  • Software testing experience with hardware in the loop
  • AWS API development
  • Experience with developing software for safety critical applications
  • Experience with managing project tasks and schedule
  • Experience with automating subsystem, and system level manufacturing processes
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong organizational, analytical, root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Able to climb up and down ladders, work in tight spaces, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
