The New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineering Technician will report to the NPI Supervisor and will be responsible for performing NPI Builds, line trials and maintaining the NPI area. This person is expected to be able to execute against provided manufacturing instructions (if available), validate their own work, check the quality of previous operations, mentor production associates, lead builds in defined area, and meet schedules. The NPI Technician is expected to be able to provide feedback, define standard work, and suggest process improvements. Experience with hand tools and use of semi-automated manufacturing equipment is necessary. Perform complex and precise electro-mechanical assembly work and be able to work independently once a task is assigned, make connections with other employees, works fluidly with the team to achieve great results Typically involves a variety of operations, including troubleshooting and rework, requiring a sufficient understanding of the functional operation of the items assembled as well as the finished product Must be able to work from complex and detailed manufacturing documentation, drawings, and/or verbal and written instructions and specialized fixtures/test equipment Responsible for quality activities, including self-inspection, and inspection. Be comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously, interacting with multiple teams Updates production records and test results, records process improvements, and manufacturability suggestions Communicates test results, ideas and problems to supervisor and engineers Maintain NPI Pilot Lines to keep current with changes in product design and manufacturing process
