About The Position

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the GM Defense Production Facility (Concord, North Carolina) on a full-time basis (shift is four 10's, Monday - Thursday). The role may occasionally require off shift or weekend coverage to support operations and critical investigations. About GM Defense GM Defense (GMD) continues a 100-year legacy of designing, validating, and manufacturing vehicles and equipment in support of defense and other government customers. Within GM Defense, the recently created Autonomous Driving and Robotics group is charged with adapting, integrating, and enhancing GM’s automated driving capabilities to the needs of GM Defense customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Candidate must either be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee) or a non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required export control authorization.
  • 5 years min. related field experience
  • Strong background in automotive electrical systems, software integration, and module functionality.
  • Experience with launch and/or manufacturing environments, with a focus on quality or electrical engineering.
  • Familiarity with VeSCom processes and Electrical Bill of Operations (BoO) strongly preferred.

  • Teamcenter utilization experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex, cross-functional deliverables.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving and data analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of electrical processes for launching vehicle programs, driving all electrical problems to resolution, including plant defects and engineering-related issues.
  • Ensure all Electrical BoO elements, manufacturing requirements, and best practices are correctly implemented.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to track and resolve issues related to electrical hardware and software.
  • Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with program timing, quality standards, and safety requirements.
