Launch Drivers at DBMS are critical to the success of our summer junior programs, events, and community outreach. Launch drivers are expected to act as role models and instructors to all young participants in sailing, marine science, kayaking, DBA, and other programs. Duties include driving launches to pick up and deliver sailing students to their respective floats, maintaining motorboats and other equipment, performing maintenance duties on campus, and adhering to all safety standards set by the USCG and DBMS. Launch Drivers must have their USCG Approved Limited Master (Launch Tender) License and be 18 years of age or older. Candidates will be required to complete First Aid, CPR, AED, and SafeSport certifications before the start of programs. Qualifications Note: Launch Drivers are required by federal law to have a Limited Master’s Credential. The process of obtaining a Limited Masters includes: Passing an in-person two day class Passing a USCG physical Passing a USCG approved drug test Having 120 Days of sea time within the past 3 years
