This position is a Full-time Direct Hire located in Irving, Texas. We are seeking experienced Lathe Operators to support our machining and fabrication operations. This position involves setting up, operating, and editing programs on large CNC lathes, including vertical turning lathes (VTLs), to produce precision machined components. Candidates must be able to work independently, maintain print specifications, and ensure quality throughout the machining process. This is a skilled trade position and not a machine-tending role. Equipment: CNC Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs) Large horizontal and vertical machines Fanuc controls, rotary tables, and automatic tool changers

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating large CNC lathes (VTL experience preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret complex machining drawings
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes and tooling
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes according to engineering prints
  • Edit and maintain CNC programs to meet print and quality requirements
  • Machine precision-finished parts and pre-machined components
  • Load and unload parts using overhead cranes and manual methods
  • Collaborate with programming to improve machining processes
  • Monitor machining operations and make adjustments as needed
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators)
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Meet production deadlines while maintaining high quality standards
