As a CNC Machinist at Bronson Investments, Inc., you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to produce precision components and parts. Your expertise in machine setup will ensure the efficient and accurate production of machined items in accordance with order specifications, playing a critical role in maintaining the quality and productivity of the manufacturing process.

  • Prepare and set up CNC machines by installing and aligning necessary tooling, fixtures, and workpieces.
  • Use basic knowledge of CNC programs to adjust as needed on the production floor.
  • Select and verify appropriate cutting tools and inserts based on job specifications.
  • Safely load raw materials or workpieces into the CNC machine and secure them properly for machining.
  • Conduct regular inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure they meet required specifications and tolerances.
  • Identify and resolve issues that may arise during the machining process, such as tool wear, chip buildup, or machine malfunctions.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn-out or damaged components.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of production activities, including machine setup details, tool changes, program adjustments, and inspection results.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, such as reducing cycle times or optimizing tooling usage.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in CNC machining is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist in a set-up role or similar in a manufacturing environment (1+ year preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of CNC programming languages and ability to make minor adjustments to existing programs.
  • Strong understanding of precision measuring instruments and quality inspection techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications.
  • Familiarity with tooling selection, setup, and maintenance for CNC machines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machining issues effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Physical ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols related to CNC machining operations.
