About The Position

Mueller Water Products is seeking qualified candidates for the full-time position of Lathe Milling Machine Operator. This role involves operating and programming lathe machines to produce parts, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The position requires a mechanical background and offers opportunities for overtime and a sign-on bonus after 60 days of employment.

Requirements

  • Mechanical background in running manufacturing equipment.
  • Previous experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch for long periods of time.
  • Ability to use power tools, air tools, and other vibratory tools.
  • Ability to work from a standing position for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work around heavy machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Program, monitor, and operate a Lathe machine including setup and operation to cast parts related to running CNC machines.
  • Inspect products to ensure they meet specifications and determine the need for machine adjustments.
  • Study guides, samples, charts, and spec sheets, or communicate with supervisors to determine setup requirements.
  • Start-up machines, monitor operations, make adjustments as needed, and stop machines when the specified amount of product has been produced.
  • Inspect machines to determine if adjustments need to be made.
  • Read blueprints, plans, materials, specifications, drawings, and machining parameters.
  • Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample work pieces, adhering to international standards.
  • Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
