About The Position

The Lathe Machinist is responsible for programming, setting up, and machining precision parts using CNC lathe equipment. This role supports production objectives by ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to manufacturing standards while collaborating closely with production and engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Strong CNC lathe programming and setup experience
  • Proficiency with CAM software and print interpretation
  • Experience machining high-precision parts in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes for complex precision parts
  • Read and interpret prints, specifications, and 3D models
  • Optimize machining programs using CAM software (Surfcam, Mastercam, or similar)
  • Design or recommend fixtures, soft jaws, and tooling solutions
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measurement tools
  • Troubleshoot machining and process-related issues to maintain quality and delivery
