Primary Function Work as part of Laser Group on the development of laser processing and parameter development in support of LECO products and systems. Work with lasers, optics, motion systems, welding torches, and/or power supplies to conduct process and parameter development. Work with Lincoln Electric Sales Team to develop and deliver laser solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED; Associates or Bachelor's in Engineering, Project Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred
  • 3-5 years laser welding experience.
  • Experience with laser processing and/or robotics is desirable
  • Robotic programming experience is desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret weld symbols
  • Skill in the use of computers, specifically a PC, Windows-based operating environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work in a lab environment and perform welds without assistance
  • Ability to handle a constantly changing set of priorities.
  • Willingness to travel 20% of the time.
  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with laser processing and/or robotics is desirable
  • Robotic programming experience is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Perform, instruct and supervise testing of internal R&D efforts.
  • Interact with suppliers, customers, distributors, and sales engineers on a regular basis.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
  • Usually works with minimum supervision, conferring with superior on unusual matters.
  • Demonstrate laser processes for internal and external visitors to Laser Laboratory (EP-5).
  • Travel to assist with installations/runoff at customer facilities.
  • Assignments are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity.
