About The Position

The Company: Pacific Aerospace & Electronics (PacAero) is seeking two Laser Welders to join our team. PacAero is primarily located in Wenatchee, WA with a remote manufacturing site, Bonded Metals, located in Sequim, WA. Working together, we employ proprietary technologies, best practices engineering, and specialized manufacturing techniques to produce hermetic connectors and electronic packaging that perform in the world's most extreme environments. PacAero's products are hard at work in medical components, such as cardiac-function devices, on key aerospace & defense programs, in space and deep below the earth's surface. The Position: PacAero is seeking two entry-level individuals to train and learn Laser Welding. No previous experience is required as we provide on the job training for this unique career path. Employees in this position will manufacture highly engineered products principally for the Aerospace, Defense, and Medical markets. One of these positions is for Night Shift and the other is for Weekend Day Shift.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or General Education Degree
  • Good hand / eye coordination (fine motor skills, dexterity)
  • Able to work with a microscope for extended periods of time
  • Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language
  • Basic computer skills
  • Able to sit and or stand for extended periods of time
  • Basic math skills
  • Willing to work with hazardous chemicals
  • Consistently notifies supervisor or designated personnel when tasks are completed
  • Consistently strives to meet company minimum labor efficiency rates
  • Must be able to follow basic instructions
  • Must be able to retain information
  • Must have legible handwriting
  • Dependability: Follows instructions, responds to management direction
  • Takes responsibility for own actions
  • Some knowledge of geometrical dimension and tolerancing
  • Basic print reading skills
  • Ability to access training records

Responsibilities

  • Work cooperatively with all employees
  • Willing to adapt work schedule to company needs
  • Attendance / Punctuality: Is consistently at work and on time
  • Demonstrate the ability to accurately and efficiently use applicable measuring tools such as Calipers, Micrometers and Height Gage
  • Demonstrate a basic ability to read and comprehend drawings and other applicable documentation
  • Perform assembly functions including proficient usage of microscope
  • Learn and use applicable area equipment
  • Install hardware of different variations
  • Work in harsh environments
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by area Senior I or Senior II
  • Observe safety regulations and follow protective equipment requirements
  • Report hazardous observations to Management personnel
  • Follow daily clean up and housekeeping procedures
  • Comply with all quality, safety, and work related rules and regulations
  • Ground spring installation
  • Staking & Press-fitting connectors
  • Verifying proper orientation per print
  • Operation of Laser Weld Machines
  • Loading correct programs
  • Reading applicable job instructions
  • Properly identifying and assembling necessary tooling
  • Re-verifying proper orientation per print
  • Basic troubleshooting skills
  • Identify contaminants
  • Remove and replace solvents as required
  • Operate specific solvent pump equipment
  • Perform beginning level procedures
