Be a part of our team contributing to our mission in space. We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented engineering professional to support Boeing production of major components of the NASA Space Launch System. This role is key to quantifying quality improvements and ensuring mission readiness for spaceflight-critical hardware. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining compliance with NASA and Boeing engineering requirements, while working closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure the quality of produced products.

  • Integrate production and manufacturing knowledge, information and requirements into the producibility review as the designated Integrated Product Team (JPT) interface.
  • Provide manufacturing input throughout all phases of structural hardware procurement.
  • Lead/support the planning, development, modification and execution of program procurement plans, and schedules; coordinate with affected organizations regarding impacts to hardware procurement efforts.
  • Review, evaluate and provide comments to Engineering drawings and documentation required to successfully procure Space Launch System (SLS) Core Stage vehicle structural hardware components (Producibility).
  • Provide support on-site at Supplier locations during the manufacture of components as required.
  • Assist in the review and of detailed Project schedules of Supplier processes as they relate to the manufacture of component hardware.
  • Primary manufacturing focal throughout the acquisition, definition, production and support phases of structural hardware procurement.
  • In depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • 5-10 years Engineering experience with data collection.
  • Knowledge and ability to understand and interpret technical data.
  • Understanding of how to define coordinate systems and redefine data into a different coordinate system.
  • Skill and ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
  • Familiarity with associated validation software for comparative analysis. Ability to document and report on results and address discrepancies.
  • Experience with the application of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
  • Knowledge of measurement systems (e.g., photogrammetry, coordinate measuring machines, laser tracker, laser radar, laser alignment, portable measurement tools).
  • Ability to review and gather required information from 3D CAD models and 2D drawings.
  • Must have experience writing process plans and data reports.
  • Occasional overtime may be required.
  • Must be able to work various shifts and/or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays.
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Prior Aerospace experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain access to NASA facilities.
  • Must be able to pass drug test.
  • Must be US citizen for government clearance or contract compliance.
  • Degree preferred but not required.
  • Past experience on SLS, External Tank, Delta, Atlas, etc. desired.
  • Previous experience with Spatial Analyzer and PRO-E/Creo Parametric software.
  • Experience scripting laser inspection sequences within the Spatial Analyzer software, including the import of CAD models & definition of the appropriate axis system per GD&T requirements.
  • Use of Leica laser tracker equipment.
