About The Position

The position involves setting up and operating CO2 and Yag or Flat Cut laser equipment to machine parts, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety protocols. The role requires interpreting technical documents and sketches, performing inspections, and maintaining production efficiency under general supervision.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with a minimum of three years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Laser safety trained.
• Ability to read and understand English, including sketches, routings, and safety rules.
• Effective communication skills with employees and stakeholders.
• Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals and fractions.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CO2 and Yag or Flat Cut laser equipment to machine parts.
• Interpret sketches, setup sheets, and related documents to determine product dimensions and tolerances.
• Conceptualize multiple axis movement, including up to five axes.
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, attachments, and accessories for laser operations.
• Perform airflow requirements and start laser operations, observing for malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
• Recognize and report process variations and deviations in dimensions and finish.
• Assist with making corrective adjustments within prescribed limits.
• Verify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications using inspection measuring equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on laser equipment in coordination with the Maintenance Department.
• Deburr parts as necessary and maintain production standards through efficient organization and planning.
• Follow and comply with safety policies and procedures, completing all required documentation accurately.
