SUMMARY A Laser Printer Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining laser printers to produce high-quality printed materials Responsible for maintaining a high quality of output while and ensuring that output is of the highest quality.

  • Operate multiple machines (OCE, Ricoh, Konica Minolta, Hayabusa).
  • Set up and operate laser printers for efficient production and quality standards.
  • Perform laser cutting operations and select appropriate cutting programs.
  • Adjust print settings and manage print queues to meet deadlines.
  • Establish proper stop locations and adjust laser beam focal points.
  • Aid in filing job jackets weekly and provide accurate turnovers to incoming shifts.
  • Monitor warning lights and bells, responding as needed.
  • Operate hand trucks and floor jacks.
  • Perform all dimensional inspections.
  • Ensure completed output products are delivered to their destinations.
  • Notify supervisors or customer service representatives of job completion and stock shortages.
  • Process paperwork for production output jobs according to procedures.
  • Maintain constant communication with supervisors, especially during problems or heavy workloads.
  • Report all production delays immediately.
  • Work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Aid in cleaning procedures (e.g., cleaning ink off machines, dusting).
  • Ensure file area and work area are clean and organized at shift end.
  • Maintain equipment in operable condition and notify personnel of malfunctions.
  • Maximize production within personnel and machine capabilities.
  • Perform regular inventory checks to ensure supplies and consumables are available.
  • Know and follow departmental safety procedures.
  • Report work-related injuries to supervisors.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to make sound and practical decisions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and semi-technical procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
