SUMMARY Sets up and operates Bystronic CNC-controlled fabrication equipment, including press brakes and 3-Dand flat laser cutting machines, to cut, bend, form, and fabricate metal components per customer and company specifications. Responsibilities include programming and operating equipment, selecting tooling and fixtures, inspecting finished parts, performing routine maintenance, and working with engineering and production teams to meet quality, safety, and production requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Follow machine pre-operation and safety check procedures.
  • Set up and operate CNC press brakes to bend, form, punch, stretch, and straighten metal components.
  • Plan bend sequences and program CNC controls accordingly.
  • Select, install, and position tooling in press brake ram and bed.
  • Lift, position, and reposition workpieces between dies.
  • Operate 3-D and flat laser cutting equipment and position components in fixtures.
  • Input instructions to initiate cutting cycles and unload finished parts.
  • Ensure correct cutting parameters and bend tolerances are used.
  • Work with engineers on fixture design and improvement.
  • Inspect finished parts for print and quality conformance.
  • Perform preventative maintenance including cleaning optics and tooling.
  • Follow production schedules and meet production metrics.
  • Move materials and operate other fabrication equipment as needed.
  • Ability to create laser nests in BY7.
  • All other duties as assigned.
