About The Position

Laser Tech Operator will complete laser jobs by running pre-programmed laser nests to cut out sheet-metal parts to support on-time production. Ensuring parts that quality and productivity standards are met; safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies; supporting and assisting our fabrication department; other duties may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

• Experience using laser cutting machine to produce parts
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize by project urgency
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and ensure accuracy in documentation and data
• Goal/task oriented with minimal supervision
• Team player with good communication skills
• Ability to meet planned and unscheduled deadlines in a timely manner

Responsibilities

• Handling materials to be loaded onto laser table
• Control CNC laser to perform daily duties
• Unload cut parts and sheet remnants
• Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces, adhering to standards
• Maintains specifications by observing, and cutting, including taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting as needed; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
• Documents actions by completing production and quality logs
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
• Plans by studying work orders, engineering plans, materials, specifications, locations of surfaces, and parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances
• Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available
• Acquire and perfect enough “know how” to service own tools
• Other duties as assigned
