About The Position
Reporting to the Laser Supervisor, this role is primarily responsible for operating lasers and de-nesting parts cut by the laser, as well as metal finishing, identifying, and organizing laser-cut parts in a just-in-time fabrication shop. This position may also be required to assist other operators as a helper on key work or machines as needed.
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong laser or CNC operating background
- Competent in basic dimensional measuring and able to quickly learn precision measurement tools
- Demonstrated competency in basic shop math
- Ability to understand and apply knowledge of G and M codes with applicable computer skills
Responsibilities
- Perform setups and operations on Bystronic and Mitsubishi CO2 lasers
- Check material thickness for accuracy and load material into the laser stocker
- De-nest parts and remove laser oxide from parts
