The Laser Operator is a key team member that will be responsible for operating and maintaining the laser cutting equipment producing parts that build the wheelchair-accessible vehicle conversions we produce while maintaining high-standards of quality and safety.

Requirements

  • Coursework beyond High School Diploma preferred.
  • Previous experience with laser equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and basic math skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, decision making abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times.
  • Outstanding attendance record and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain the 2D laser equipment.
  • Material handling duties related to loading and unloading sheet metal.
  • Shear/trim sheet metal.
  • Read work orders to determine programming requirements.
  • Perform quality inspection to detect and prevent part defects.
  • Perform trouble-shooting of equipment as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with Freedom Motors quality and safety standards, policies and procedures, and OSHA safety regulations and follow both written and verbal work instructions.
  • Assist other areas as needed.
