About The Position

Operate laser machine, which cuts parts out of raw steel. Check parts to blueprints, use calipers and micrometers, pull parts and stack on skids.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in a related role preferred.
• Previous experience leading employees required.
• Able to make fast, accurate decisions relating to the production process and equipment.
• Quality standards must be strictly adhered to, so attention to detail is extremely important.
• Basic understanding of blueprints required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety guidelines and requirements.
• Perform laser startup and PM’s of machine.
• Operate overhead crane.
• Check first and last pieces for quality. Ensure parts are free from blemishes.
• Use pin gauges, calipers, mics, fabervision, and CMM to validate parts to prints.
• Make adjustments such as laser offsets and alignment.
• Stock parts in a safe and orderly manner.
• Clean machine during and before end of shift.
• Make sure all tools are returned to shadow board.
• Other duties as assigned.
