About The Position

Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We're doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain. The Laser Operator, Engineering position involves operating and programming cutting machines for sheet and plate profiling using fiber laser, high-definition plasma, and 5-axis waterjet.

Requirements

• Prior laser, waterjet, plasma experience required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
• High school diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machines according to project needs
• Produce high-quality cut products in a safe and efficient manner
• Adjust machine settings to improve quality and efficiency of the production process
• Loading materials into machine in accordance with project material specifications
• Unload, debur, inspect, label and palletize cut parts as outlined by work orders
• Inspect machines to ensure they are in good working condition
• Diagnosing and troubleshoot technical issues that arise with machinery
• Assist in maintenance of machines when needed
• Assist in machine programming as required and desired
• Clean and maintain work areas, including laser machinery and equipment
