About The Position

The position involves performing advanced production activities on a variety of laser machines. The individual will be responsible for selecting steel, burning steel, returning steel to stock, performing routine maintenance on equipment, and ensuring a clean work area. The role requires adherence to safety and quality standards, as well as the completion of work order paperwork and documentation.

Requirements

• Ability to stand or sit in a stationary position, walk, and use hands/fingers for handling materials.
• Capability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
• Effective communication skills to talk and hear.
• Visual acuity to see and inspect materials.
• Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.

Responsibilities

• Selects steel using caution to avoid damage, verifies size with tape measure and calipers, and checks composition with color codes.
• Burns steel by setting up the burner for quality cuts and efficiency, ensuring accuracy per customer order.
• Returns steel to stock, marking drops with heat numbers and color codes.
• Performs routine maintenance on burner and associated equipment.
• Keeps the table and entire area clean.
• Ensures needed repairs are made promptly.
• Performs all tasks safely and obeys all safety rules.
• Performs other duties assigned by foreman as necessary to complete the shift.
