About The Position

As a Field Service Technician, you will utilize customer communication skills, and mechanical and electrical knowledge to repair, troubleshoot, modify and test complex technical problems on Mitsubishi Machining products. This position is a traveling position Monday through Friday, and home on weekends. While travel is mostly regionalized, Field Service Technicians typically stay in a hotel near the customers' facility Monday through Friday. Travel is primarily throughout the US but can be international in some cases as well. Our services are provided on-site at our customer’s facilities and via telephone if the situation permits. We train the right people for a successful career in the machinery industry and pride ourselves on customer retention.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes
• Ability to use basic hand-tools
• Ability to operate a computer with windows operating systems
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Able to be comfortable working with heights
• Valid Driver’s License
• Associates or technical degree preferred
• Experience with electrical Measurement and inspection techniques (voltmeter, oscilloscope, and other measuring equipment)
• Experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems (ball screws, bearings, gearing, and various way systems)
• Experience in Mechanical measurement and inspection techniques (indicators, micrometers, gage blocks and optical comparator. Laser Interferometer and ball bar a plus)

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations to diagnose complex technical problems and perform on-site repair
• Examine machines mechanically and electrically to perform repairs by dismantling machines and rebuilding as needed
• Diagnose technical problems and troubleshoot via telephone
• Communicate professionally and effectively with customers
• Effectively interpret schematics and block diagrams to analyze and troubleshoot problems
• Document in detail product problems and resolutions
• Other duties as assigned
