Key Responsibilities: Laser Program Development Assist with the creation, editing, and validation of laser marking programs and process settings using specialized software (e.g., FOBA, Trumpf, Beamer or similar). Interpret customer drawings and job specifications to develop accurate marking. Ensure all programs adhere to company standards and program control procedures. Process Control & Documentation Maintain organized and controlled storage of laser programs in accordance with revision control protocols. Generate and update detailed Work Instructions (WIs) to ensure consistent production execution. Assist in the standardization of setup and operation procedures for repeatability and training purposes. Inspection & Quality Assurance Perform in-process and final inspections of laser-marked parts using calibrated tools (e.g., calipers, optical comparators). Verify compliance with job-specific marking requirements, including size, position, contrast, and readability. Document inspection results and support non-conformance investigations when required. Fixture Design & Optimization Design and fabricate fixtures for part placement during laser processing using CAD software or manual methods. Support the optimization of legacy fixturing to improve ergonomics, throughput, and mark consistency. Job Operation Set up and operate laser marking machines to process production parts according to job travelers and work instructions. Verify job readiness by reviewing documentation, tooling, fixtures, and marking programs. Record run data and production quantities accurately, ensuring traceability and compliance with quality requirements. Production Support & Workflow Optimization Assist with laser machine setup, cleaning, and preventive maintenance tasks under supervision. Contribute to the organization of departmental tooling, job setup materials, and workspace layout improvements. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, efficiency, and safety. Qualifications: Required: Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field. Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and mechanical drawings. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Willingness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Preferred: Familiarity with laser marking systems or software (e.g., FOBA, Trumpf, Beamer or similar). Experience with CAD software for fixture design (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent). Understanding of lean manufacturing and process documentation. Hands-on experience with inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, visual inspection systems). What You’ll Gain: Exposure to precision manufacturing and advanced laser technologies. Experience working in a regulated, high-quality medical production environment. Opportunities to contribute to real-world process improvements and engineering solutions. Experience in technical documentation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement methods. Mentorship from experienced engineers and production leaders.
