About The Position

This position operates various pieces of equipment to maintain quality of cut materials, per custom or stock specifications, for sale to customers in conjunction with customer quality requirements and United Alloy manufacturing philosophies. Monitoring cutting performance (deburring as needed) and efficiency are essential.

Requirements

  • Can use a ruler, tape measure, or caliper to perform accurate measurements per specific print and drawing tolerances
  • Can compute, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, multiplication, and division, of fractions and decimals
  • The individual must have some exposure to metal fabrication concepts and processes
  • Understands how to manage daily work expectations and goals
  • Understands, interprets and follows foreman's report including priorities and start dates
  • Understands cross check concepts and inspects product according to Inspection Control Plan
  • Follows safe manufacturing and material handling practices
  • Ability to sustain 95% efficiency
  • Maintains accurate and timely system transactions (Factory Track / CSI)
  • Has the authority to stop production when nonconforming parts are detected
  • Can maintain a high level of quality - must not have scrap in excess of $500 per calendar year
  • Can inspect and clean equipment including all preventative maintenance
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have forklift and material handling experience
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • The individual must have exposure to metal fabrication concepts and processes
  • The individual must possess a keen sense of attention to detail
  • Must possess the ability to operate a forklift, overhead cranes, tape measure, calipers, and hand tools
  • Must be able to determine material types and gauges
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds with an assist
  • Must be able to read and write job numbers and label kits accordingly
  • Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
  • Must perform all duties in conjunction with UAI and ISO requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
