The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a faculty member credentialed and privileged as a Physician Assistant (PA) or an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) (in a respective Specialty area; i.e., Nurse Practitioner (NP), Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)). The APP is a member of the OHSU Professional Staff practicing in accordance with the respective bylaws. The APP shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. The APP is expected to comply with scope of practice, other laws, regulations, OHSU policy, and other applicable professional standards of practice. The purpose of this position is to provide, coordinate and support adult patient care in the Division of Laryngology Head and Neck Surgery. Position collaborates with faculty, residents, fellows and speech therapists to deliver appropriate, timely patient care. She/he will provide clinical support through the following daily tasks, including, but not limited to conducting new patient intake visits, division triage support, review of pre- and post-op directions with surgical patients, assist during office procedures, holding independent clinic sessions for new and follow up appointments. Collaborates with Division Chief to continuously improve care coordination, customer service, and administrative processes and systems.
