About the position

The Large Loss Property Adjuster role at Allstate involves providing exceptional service to policyholders by conducting on-site inspections, investigating coverage, preparing estimates, and settling claims efficiently. The position requires travel to customers' homes and handling virtual claims, with a focus on water losses. The adjuster will embody Allstate's Claims Culture, acting as a customer service expert, investigator, effective communicator, negotiator, problem solver, and recorder of claims documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections of property claims and investigate coverage.
  • Prepare estimates and settle claims promptly and efficiently.
  • Handle virtual claims using various platforms and software such as Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration.
  • Evaluate and negotiate claims settlements with customers, vendors, and third-party carriers.
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of claims in the claims system.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with policyholders through phone, email, and video chat.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to assess damages and expedite claims settlements.

Requirements

  • 4 years of previous experience as an outside adjuster is highly desired.
  • Experience handling claims with multiple trades and over $25,000 in losses.
  • Proficiency in using Xactimate and other relevant software for estimating.
  • Strong critical thinking and technical skills to assess damages accurately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel to customers' homes and handle virtual claims effectively.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as part of the job requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in handling water loss claims specifically.
  • Familiarity with claims handling processes and legal methodologies.
