About The Position

As a Large Loss Bodily Injury Manager you will be responsible to lead and support a team of experienced Large Loss Adjusters. In this role, you will oversee complex, high‑severity bodily injury claims and provide strategic direction for the resolution of large loss exposures. You will collaborate closely with internal partners to ensure compliance, quality, and alignment with company guidelines and best practices. The role also focuses heavily on people leadership—fostering team engagement, supporting professional development, and providing ongoing coaching and mentorship to drive strong performance and outcomes. Join a one‑of‑a‑kind department dedicated to managing the most complex, high‑risk large loss bodily injury claims. The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated people‑leadership experience, advanced risk awareness, and a proven track record handling complex large loss bodily injury exposures, including matters with potential bad‑faith implications. Experience managing rejected tender claims and navigating high‑risk venues is strongly preferred. Bodily injury litigation and/or commercial claims experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures understanding of business objectives, results, processes, etc. with their direct reports
  • Fosters a collaborative environment that inspires and motivates many employees
  • Develops and directs business unit action plans
  • Manages and resolves escalated customer communications, concerns, conflicts or issues
  • Accountable for human resources duties, including resource management, hiring, performance management, talent development and compensation planning
  • Responsible for complex claim decisions, identification of hiring, training, and succession planning opportunities, and the development and implementation of short- and long-term strategies and process improvements to achieve corporate financial outcomes
  • Analyzes results and contributes to the development of strategies and action plans to support the achievement of operational goals related to customer service, loss cost management, and expense controls
