In this role, you’ll coordinate enrollment meetings, support brokers and employer groups with promotional materials, manage quoting and proposals, and track sales activity from initial outreach through final submission. You’ll actively prospect new business within your territory, present BCBST group products and partner solutions, and build lasting relationships with brokers and organizational leaders. A strong understanding of insured and self‑funded solutions will be key as you support groups of 26–500 employees and drive ongoing business development. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required. Equivalent experience is defined as 4 years of professional work experience in a corporate environment
  • 3 years - Experience in broker relations, sales and/or account management required
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Superior interpersonal, client relations and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of learning needs assessments and analysis, training design, learning strategies and learning management technologies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contracts, products, networks, underwriting, billing, claims processing procedures and use of a broker distribution system.
  • State of Tennessee Insurance License
  • Employees who are required to operate either a BCBST-owned vehicle or a personal or rental vehicle for company business on a routine basis will be automatically enrolled into the BCBST Driver Safety Program. The employee will also be required to adhere to the guidelines set forth through the program. This includes, maintaining a valid driver’s license, auto insurance compliance with minimum liability requirements; as defined in the “Use of Non BCBST-Owned Vehicle” Policy (for employees driving personal or rental vehicles only); and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR). The definition for "routine basis" is defined as daily, weekly or at regularly schedule times.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling on-site enrollment meetings and provide necessary promotional material for brokers/groups.
  • Responsible for tracking sales activities; quoting prices, preparing proposals and providing information regarding terms and delivery as well as submitting required sold group information for group set-up in home office.
  • Prospecting new business contacting brokers/consultants within assigned territory and segment while detailing BCBST group products and services as well as our non-branded partners products.
  • Knowledge in all financing options for both insured and self-funded products as well as reinsurance and buy-up clinical programs.
  • Presenting insurance products and services to brokers and occasionally all management levels on-site within an organization.
  • Implementing strategies to support key relationship building for ongoing business development with brokers/consultants for groups with 26-500 employees.
  • Meet all State of Tennessee insurance licensing requirements and continuing education to maintain this license in good standing.
