About The Position

New Bolton Center has an ongoing need for Large Animal Attendants. This posting describes the basic responsibilities and requirements for this role. This position is located in Kennett Square, PA, which is approximately 33 miles outside of Philadelphia. There is no public transportation to this location. You must have your own transportation. Within this vital position, some of your responsibilities will include: Perform general stall maintenance and cleanliness of patient areas, to include cleaning and disinfecting of stalls. Clean, stock, and organize treatment rooms and clinic hall. Organize and maintain stock of paperwork in all barns and ensure critical care areas are fully stocked. Perform general patient care to include feeding, grooming, walking, hydrotherapy, and placement of support wraps. Ensure patients have clean water, feed, and hay, per treatment orders or nurse/clinician instructions. Restrain patients for diagnostic procedures, surgery, radiology, ultrasound, nuclear scintigraphy, emergency work-ups, and other procedures. Assist with admissions and discharges of all patients. Meet the department’s Critical Competencies: Accountability, Initiative, and Service Orientation, and perform other duties as assigned. Contribute to a professional, safe, and efficient hospital environment. This position is eligible for a $1,000 signing incentive.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to operate a variety of motorized equipment, including forklift, tractor, and standard dump truck required.
  • The ability to perform strenuous work and tolerate exposure to weather, chemicals, and allergens is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Large Animal Attendant A: 0 to 1 year of experience is required.
  • Large animal handling experience is preferred.
  • Large Animal Attendant B: 2 to 3 years of experience is required.
  • Large animal handling experience is also required.

Responsibilities
