About The Position
LanguageLine Solutions is seeking a dedicated and skilled Laotian-English Video-Phone Interpreter to join our team. This remote position allows you to utilize your language skills to bridge communication gaps for limited-English speakers, as well as the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community. As an interpreter, you will be responsible for handling calls on demand and rendering the meaning of conversations between Laotian and English speakers across various industries, including healthcare, government, insurance, financial services, utilities, travel and hospitality, general business, law enforcement, court, and emergency services such as 911. In this role, you will receive industry-leading training to enhance your skills and ensure you are well-prepared to handle both simple and complex interpreting sessions. You will work in a certified ASTM and ISO environment, supported by a Senior Language Specialist and our Interpreter and Technology Help Desks. Your professionalism and cultural sensitivity will be crucial as you navigate sensitive topics and maintain a high level of accuracy during interpretation. This position does not involve written translation; however, we encourage translators and other skilled linguists to apply. The Laotian Video-Telephone Interpreter will be expected to respond promptly to video and audio interpreting sessions, deliver services in a friendly and professional manner, and maintain a quiet and secure home office environment. You will also participate in ongoing training sessions to continuously develop your skills and meet client expectations.
