About the position
Lanier Technical College is conducting a search for a part-time, non benefits-eligible, FLSA-exempt position for an Adjunct Nurse Aide Instructor. The position is available at different campus locations and reports to the Nurse Aide Coordinator. The targeted salary is paid in a lump sum based on contact hours. A background check is part of the selection process.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional instruction based on approved course syllabus and ensure that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives.
- Prepare curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught.
- Display a positive professional attitude toward students and teaching.
- Evaluate students' progress in attaining goals and objectives.
- Report to and provide a periodic performance appraisal to the Program Chair and/or Allied Health Instructors.
- Administer and grade class examinations.
- Maintain records of student grades and maintain student files.
- Attend in-service training, workshops, and seminars as needed.
- Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training and laboratory areas.
- Meet all required deadlines and complete all mandatory training.
- Meet with students, staff members, and supervisors as needed.
Requirements
- Diploma in medical field or health science from a regionally accredited college or university.
- One year of relevant work experience.
- Valid GA Nursing License.
- Demonstrated competencies in specific course content (coursework, license, certification, etc.).
- Ability to obtain GA Nurse Aide 'Train the Trainer' certification within 60 days of hire, if not already possessed.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to bend, perform body mechanics, lift 25 - 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
- Experience with online teaching platforms.
- Previous or current long-term care work experience.
- GA Nurse Aide Train-The-Trainer certification.
