The University of Maryland's Maryland Language Science Center (MLSC) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for its inaugural Fellowship for Postdoctoral Scholars. This position aims to support early-career researchers in establishing their own research programs while fostering interdisciplinary collaborations within the university. The fellow will engage with faculty across various departments, contributing to innovative research projects and discussions in the field of language science.

  • Establish and pursue an independent research program in language science.
  • Engage in collaborative research projects with faculty from multiple disciplines.
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary discussions and reading groups.
  • Utilize available resources and facilities for research, including eye-tracking and neuroimaging equipment.
  • Coordinate with the language science research lab at the Planet Word Museum.
  • A PhD in a relevant field such as neuroscience, psychology, linguistics, education, communication sciences and disorders, philosophy, or computer science.
  • Completion of all PhD requirements prior to appointment.
  • Experience in interdisciplinary research collaborations.
  • Familiarity with language science methodologies and technologies.
  • Access to state-of-the-art research facilities and computational resources.
  • Opportunities for professional development and networking within the language science community.
