About The Position

We are RUSH Facilities, a division of RUSH Construction, an employee-owned local General Contractor in Brevard County, and we are looking for an ambitious Landscaping Technician to assist in our Grounds Keeping department. If you love to work outside, maintain landscaping, and foster a welcoming environment for clients, then this could be the job for you! SUMMARY Perform a range of diverse grounds-keeping tasks to enhance and maintain the aesthetic appeal of the facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Effective communication in English, both verbal and written
  • Ability to communicate with tradesmen, peers, supervisors, and customers
  • Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Understanding concepts such as diameter, radius, and circumference
  • Understanding of mechanical systems and their safe and efficient operation
  • Valid Florida driver's license
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions within OSHA and other jurisdictional regulations
  • Ability to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds safely and performing the expected range of motions for grounds work
  • Ability to stand, sit, crouch, or lie prone while using hand and power tools
  • Communication, both verbally and through hearing
  • Vision requirements include the ability to see close work, distance, depth perception, and adapt to changing light conditions
  • Must be able to obtain security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Mowing, edging, trimming, and weeding lawns and garden beds
  • Pruning trees, shrubs, and plants to maintain health and aesthetics
  • Mulching, fertilizing, and aerating lawns and soil
  • Controlling weeds, pests, and diseases using approved treatments
  • Planting flowers, trees, shrubs, and grass
  • Installing hardscapes like walkways, patios, retaining walls, and irrigation systems
  • Spreading gravel, sand, or other materials for pathways and beds
  • Laying sod and seeding lawns
  • Installing, inspecting, and repairing irrigation systems
  • Adjusting sprinkler systems to ensure proper coverage and water efficiency
  • Monitoring soil moisture and plant hydration needs
  • Using mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, and other landscaping tools
  • Performing basic maintenance on landscaping equipment (e.g., sharpening blades, refueling, and cleaning)
  • Operating tractors, skid steers, or other heavy equipment (if required)
