About The Position

Freestone Lake and Golf is one of our new developments and we are growing! We are looking for a Landscaper to maintain the grounds of our club. This position is key to maintaining a magnificent visual appeal to our members and guests.

Requirements

• Ability to operate landscape machinery.
• Ability to operate various vehicles (gas, diesel, electric).
• Ability to follow oral and written directions in English.
• Ability to work in a team environment and operate in a safe, professional manner at all times.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holiday and a shift greater than eight (8) hours in length.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than four (4) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than 50 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Mow lawns using push rotary, reel and or riding mowers.
• Operation string trimmers and grass edgers.
• Maintenance and upkeep of traffic stakes, mulch (wood chips) and aggregate (cinder, gravel, rocks).
• Must be able to operate all equipment related to the preparation, repair and maintenance of the landscape.
• All equipment pre-start, operation and post-use protocols and report equipment problems or failure to the Director of Landscape Maintenance and Landscape Mechanic immediately.
• Report irrigation breaks or issues to your immediate Supervisor as soon as the issue is discovered.
• Assist landscape mechanic, landscape irrigator and landscape pesticide controller as needed.
• Hand watering and fertilizing of lawns, all landscape and nurseries.
• Spot spraying of weeds on landscape and turf as necessary.
• Empty trashcans at beach parks and maintenance shop areas.
• Hand weeding, top dressing and moving traffic stakes on turf areas.
• Use buffalo or hand blowers to clean cart paths, parking, clubhouse etc.
• Collect any trash, leaves and flower debris, tree limps, palm fronds/ leaves, etc.
• Assist with landscape construction projects.
• Assist with storm preparation and post storm clean-up
• Maintain beach showers; remove excess sand and debris, wash down.
• Maintenance of small water features.
• Maintenance of potted exterior and interior plants.
• Participate in shop clean-up tasks.
• Participate in daily landscape set-up, debris clean-up.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Properly store and maintain assigned tools, utility cart, lockers, PPE and equipment
• Assist with set-up and break down of special events if needed.
• Move furniture and other objects on turf as needed.
• Any other duties as assigned.
• Report to work on time and as scheduled.
