About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Landscape Technician position. In this role you will perform landscape maintenance duties including but not limited to mowing, edging, pruning, snow removal, string trimming, litter removal, and appropriate response to requests as needed. This is a year-round day shift position (6:00 am - 2:30 am). If you are a landscaper with an eye for quality, this position may be the one for you! As a Landscape Technician, a typical day might include the following: With guidance perform daily landscape maintenance duties including but not limited to mowing, string trimming, edging, pruning, snow removal and appropriate response to requests as needed. Assist employees in routine duties, techniques, and department goals. Partner with others on grounds keeping. Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; perform routine maintenance as required. Follow and continuously improve workplace safety, environmental practices, area processes, and waste reduction opportunities.

Requirements

  • Have a high School Diploma or equivalent
  • Have experience operating grounds related equipment and using applicable chemicals, supplies, hand, and power tools with minimal guidance.
  • Have demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently complete tasks and projects.
  • Can read, understand, follow, and strictly enforce safety procedures.
  • Are able to work various shifts, hours, and days depending on workload.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Lift and maneuver 40 pounds frequently
  • Pull weight from high/low shelves
  • Ability to safely ascend and descend ladders
  • Reach
  • Bend
  • Grip
  • Twist
  • Stand for at least 8 hours

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to perform basic landscaping duties
  • 1 year of experience in maintaining commercial landscapes.
