About The Position

Connect Talent Solutions, one of Hampton Roads fastest growing staffing companies, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Landscape Technician to join our team. As a Landscape Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep and beauty of our outdoor spaces. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to creating visually appealing and functional landscapes that enhance the overall aesthetics of our properties.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in landscaping or horticulture is a plus.
Proven experience as a Landscape Technician or similar role, demonstrating knowledge of landscaping techniques, plant care, and maintenance practices.
Proficiency in operating landscaping equipment and tools, with the ability to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance.
Strong understanding of irrigation systems and their components, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
Knowledge of pest and weed control methods, including the safe application of pesticides and herbicides.
Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy objects as required.
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

Landscape Maintenance: Perform routine landscape maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, pruning, edging, weeding, and mulching, to ensure the cleanliness and attractiveness of the outdoor areas.
Plant Care: Plant, cultivate, and care for trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plants, ensuring proper planting techniques, watering, fertilization, and pest control measures are implemented.
Irrigation Systems: Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems to ensure adequate watering and efficient water usage throughout the landscapes.
Hardscape Maintenance: Clean and maintain hardscape elements such as walkways, patios, decks, and fences, ensuring they are free from debris, weeds, and damage.
Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain various landscaping equipment and tools, such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers, pruners, and small machinery, following safety guidelines and reporting any equipment issues.
Landscape Design Implementation: Assist in the installation of landscape designs, including the placement of plants, trees, rocks, and other decorative elements, ensuring accurate implementation according to design plans.
Pest and Weed Control: Identify and address pest and weed issues through the application of appropriate control measures, such as pesticide application, manual removal, or the use of organic solutions.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Comply with environmental regulations regarding chemical usage, disposal, and waste management.
Client Interaction: Communicate and collaborate effectively with clients, addressing their questions, concerns, and requests in a professional and customer-oriented manner.
Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records of performed tasks, materials used, and time spent on each project. Complete daily work logs and reports as required.
