The Landscape Technician is responsible for performing general landscaping & maintenance tasks on properties and equipment managed by the Tennessee Aquarium. Key Responsibilities Maintains the cleanliness of the grounds, parking lot, walkways, water features, and buildings on the Aquarium Plaza Grounds maintenance: mowing, weed eating, trash pickup, pressure washing, landscaping and irrigation systems maintenance Operates and maintains the three water features on the Aquarium Plaza which will include pumps, filters, and water quality management Facility and grounds lighting; re-lamping and minor repairs Performs general maintenance tasks on facility finishes such as handrails, door hardware adjustments, and painting Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs on air handling equipment; change filters, clean coils, fan housing, fins & unit interior, and belt replacement Performs work in a manner that fosters the Aquarium’s mission and reflects its core values and service standards

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred
• Certified Pool Operator Certification preferred
• Self-motivated, with good communication skills with the ability to interact with co-workers and guests in a way that promotes our core values and service standards
• Mechanical aptitude for facility and grounds maintenance
• Enjoy working outside
• Quick learner with attention to detail.
• Ability to work alone while staying on task
• Previous grounds maintenance, facility maintenance, or construction experience preferred
• Basic computer skills: accessing email and internet preferred
• Full-time, hourly ($17.00/hour) ; must be able to work some weekends and holidays as needed, as well as a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities
