About The Position

Under the supervision and direction of the Landscape Management Team, the Landscape Technician is responsible for installation and maintenance of the landscape of Destination Kohler businesses and specified Kohler Co. Corporate grounds, nurturing and preserving the unique beauty and charm of all corners of our world-class resort. Specific Responsibilities Landscape Technician I: 1. Installation of landscape features which may include: herbaceous plants, woody ornamentals, turf, irrigation, hardscapes, and holiday/seasonal decorations. 2. Maintenance of landscape properties according to established specifications which may include watering, turf mowing, weeding, hard surface care, pruning, mulching, and IPM. 3. Maintenance and operation of equipment necessary to perform items 1 & 2 which may include leaf blowers, hand tools, string trimmers, push and riding mowers, chain saws, skid steers, tractors, pickup trucks, and golf carts. 4. Assist with snow removal responsibilities according to established contracts for the various Corporate grounds and Destination Kohler businesses. Snow removal duties may include shoveling, application of ice melt material, snow plowing, the operation of snow blowers and power brushes. 5. Observe all written standard operating procedures to provide a safe working environment for self, other associates, guests and the general public. 6. Perform any other work as assigned by Landscape Management Team. For Landscape Technician II: All duties of Landscape Technician I, and 1. Coordination and implementation of assigned projects through personnel to specific jobs/tasks at predetermined locations in accordance with above items. 2. Demonstrate mastery of all skills and knowledge base of landscape maintenance and construction practices of the specific items above. 3. Train and mentor Landscape Technician I. For Landscape Technician III: All duties of Landscape Technician I and II, and 1. Responsible for sourcing, ordering and maintaining proper inventory levels of supplies and materials used for landscape maintenance and construction activities. 2. Train and mentor Landscape Technician I and II. 3. In the absence of the associate’s supervisor, this position will assume supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Horticulture or allied discipline OR equivalent field experience preferred
  • Possession of a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Minimum of 3 years industry experience preferred
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a category 3.0 Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection applicators certificate
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Wisconsin Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Minimum of 5 years industry experience preferred
  • Candidate will have extensive knowledge of landscape maintenance and/or landscape construction practices and policies
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
