This position is accountable for the implementation of acceptable roadside development installations on established and new facilities and develops rest area contracts and maintenance work activities to help keep the facilities functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing to the traveling public. This position assists the Roadside Management Specialist in the design, construction, and maintenance of the roadway landscape features to ensure safety, compatibility, preservation, and aesthetics within the system. The incumbent provides input to operations and other bureaus regarding landscape, erosion control, and Context Sensitive Solution (CSS) issues. The Illinois Department of Transportation is seeking to hire a Landscape Technician.
