About The Position

Performs routine landscaping and grounds maintenance work on City-owned property, rights-of-way, parks, and facilities. Work includes mowing, trimming, planting, irrigation support, and general upkeep to maintain the safety, appearance, and functionality of municipal grounds.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform manual labor in an outdoor environment.
  • Demonstrated reliability and ability to maintain regular attendance.
  • Willingness and ability to learn job duties and operate equipment safely.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Highschool Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license and ability to be insurable by the City’s automobile insurance carrier

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, construction, or related outdoor labor preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of operating and maintaining landscaping equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains City grounds by mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, and raking.
  • Operates landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, edgers, blowers, and other hand and power tools.
  • Plants, waters, prunes, and remove trees, shrubs, and seasonal vegetation.
  • Assists with installation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
  • Removes debris, litter, and hazards from public property and rights-of-way.
  • Assists with storm cleanup and emergency response as directed.
  • Performs minor repairs to landscaping fixtures and related infrastructure.
  • Follows established safety procedures and reports unsafe conditions.
  • Performs routine equipment inspection and basic maintenance such as fueling and cleaning.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
