About The Position

Plants and tends flowerbeds. Prunes shrubs and trees to enhance growth and appearance. Rakes and removes fallen leaves. Keeps lagoon clean, and drainage ditches and culverts free of obstructions. Cuts grass and repairs damaged lawns. Waters lawns, shrubs and flowerbeds. Sweeps walkways and staircases. Removes water using brooms, blowers and squeegees. Applies various types of chemical fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides throughout grounds areas as needed. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Must be capable of a full range of body movement.
Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50-75 pounds on a regular basis.
Must be able to read, understand and communicate in English.
Must be able to read instructions and dilution for application of all herbicides and pesticides used at the Polynesian Cultural Center.
Should have a high school education or the equivalent.
Must attach Resume and recent class schedule (weekly view)
Must exemplify the university Honor Code, including the Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations

Nice To Haves

Prior Landscape maintenance experience is desired but not mandatory.
Preference will be given to students who can work during academic breaks
