About The Position

The Landscape / Maintenance Worker is primarily responsible for landscaping and grounds maintenance across all agency sites. This position also assists facilities staff and the Director of Facilities in their day-to-day operations. The role requires regular travel to various agency sites to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on household equipment and appliances, as well as maintaining and servicing mechanical systems. The worker will perform routine plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs, conduct basic vehicle checks, and assist with complex maintenance tasks under supervision. Participation in mandatory training and in-service activities is required, along with promoting a trauma-informed culture and supporting diversity, inclusion, and equity within the organization.

Requirements

  • Must have a High School diploma.
  • Demonstrated experience as an all-around landscaping/maintenance repair person.
  • Combination of experience and formal trade education desirable.
  • Ability to work independently, organize workload, and work cooperatively with others.
  • Life experience within the Foster Care System preferred.
  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
  • Valid California driver's license; current automobile insurance; clean driving record acceptable to the organization's insurance company.
  • Must pass a fingerprint background investigation.
  • Must pass a TB test, Physical Exam, and Drug Screening.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the grounds at all agency sites are well maintained.
  • Travel to all agency sites regularly to perform preventive maintenance and repair on basic household equipment and appliances.
  • Maintain and service all mechanical systems such as stoves, refrigerators, garbage disposals, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and exhaust fans.
  • Perform routine plumbing, electrical, and simple carpentry repairs as assigned by supervisor.
  • Perform basic vehicle checks and services as assigned by supervisor.
  • Drive vehicles and operate equipment necessary to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Assist with complex and skilled maintenance tasks under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Attend and participate in mandatory training and in-service activities.
  • Perform other duties and participate in special projects as requested by supervisor.
  • Interface with staff and clients in a service-oriented, positive, and productive manner.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement activities and promote such.
  • Support and promote a trauma-informed culture throughout the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with COA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a role model for children and adolescents served by the agency.
