About The Position

The Landscape Irrigation Technician position at Your Best Management Group involves maintaining and repairing irrigation systems for commercial properties. The role requires hands-on experience with irrigation systems, including knowledge of timers, valves, and wiring, as well as landscaping and lawn maintenance skills. The technician will ensure the proper functioning of irrigation systems and contribute to the overall care of the landscaping.

Requirements

• Commercial irrigation experience.
• Knowledge of timers, valves, and wiring.
• Ability to check for irrigation leaks and repair issues quickly and efficiently.
• Knowledge of landscaping/lawn maintenance.
• Ability to set clocks and pull and fit piping for irrigation systems.
• Sets sprinkler heads and valve boxes.
• Tests irrigation system for proper functioning.
• Basic rock/plant knowledge.
• Must understand and practice safety in all work circumstances.
• Activates and deactivates irrigation systems according to seasonal priorities or pre-established schedules.
• Reliable transportation.
• Strong communication skills.
• High standard of integrity and professionalism.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Drug-free at all times.
• A high school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Care for established landscaping and lawns by mulching, mowing, aerating, weeding, grubbing and removing thatch, trimming, and edging around flower beds.
• Inspect and repair irrigation systems.
• Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, and trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
• Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, and shrubs, and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools.
• Gather and remove litter throughout the property.
